What are your research interests:

I am really into the field of environmental and resource economics. It is interesting to look at the trade-off between development and environmental sustainability, particularly as they apply in my home country. The overall standard of living of the Chinese people has improved in recent years, but there are still a lot of underdeveloped areas in China and the country is facing a widening wealth gap. In addition, development has come at the cost of serious air pollution in many cities, including my hometown of Beijing. I hope that through my academic work I can help find Economics-based solutions to these problems. FInally, I always remember the theory of invisible hand I am also very interest in the role of monetary policy and fiscal policy in recessions.

What research projects are you working on?

Currently, I am working on a groundwater management project with Dr. Taro Mieno and Dr. Karina Schoengold. Dr. Taro Mieno proposes the idea of water use reduction subsidy program, which designated to achieve water use reduction with less cost and a higher producer welfare than current land retirement program.

What is your career goals?

My short-term career goal is to find a job after graduation. Ideally, I would love to work any jobs related to resources management or monetary policy, so I can use some skills I have been learning here. I am also open to jobs that give me opportunities to interact with variety of people.
